The Twain Have Met

$85.00

This third-stream style concerto was commissioned by jazz trumpet artist, Marvin Stamm in 1998.  It features two solo trumpet parts, one jazz, one classical, however both players are required to play some in both styles.  This single movement work was originally scored
for  two trumpets and orchestra, but on the recommendation of Mr Stamm, was re-orchestrated for wind ensemble to enhance the prospects for performance.

Twain, as it is known, has been performed by Mr Stamm on several occasions and was recently recorded by the world renown wind ensemble of the New England Conservatory
of Music in Boston, MA.  The new recording features Stamm along with former principal
trumpet of the Boston Symphony, Charles Schlueter.
